I agree with another comment, I'm not agree at all with the other, I am a fan of Hugh Grant, I think I must have almost all his movies and I am a fane of Jane Austen, but the serious ; frankly, this is not the best of versions, there are a lot, really a lot better....... pity that Hugh Grant spoil the film, it does not have the carisme that it should be ; gache vraimentle film. In my opinion it was the actor suitable for this role! he plays the shy, uncomfortable in his skin, while normally Darcy is proud, haughty, and very, very rich, and jealously looked upon by all the world. In this version he is disinherited, poor, awkward, if he could hide in a hole smiled... it spoils the whole atmosphere and the story - sorry if I shocked...
